1973 Mercury Cougar Scale Model Car
Just about all day today I worked on the model, assembling it to almost completion. Some of the steps are (basically in this order): 1. I finished painting the front bumper, headlight and grille chrome plated piece. I added a simulated rubber strip along the front bumper using flat black paint, used flat black paint on the grille and around the headlights, painted the turn signals an amber color and painted the emblem red.
3. I assembled the interior, gluing the steering wheel in turned as the front wheels will be turned to the right. The rear bumper was also glued in place.
5. Now, I was ready to glue in the chassis, as the model was almost complete. After test fitting the chassis, I carefully glued it into place and also the front bumper, headlight and grille piece. I still have to do some detailing such as painting the hubcap emblems blue and minor touch up with silver paint, though. There is at least one small smudge (of silver paint), on the white paint which can be removed with polish, I believe.
